delivery technology to improve drug bioavailability and thereby enable oral
delivery of many of today's injectable products.The Company will apply this breakthrough
technology to develop a pipeline of large market, orally delivered drugs.In general, oral delivery is the preferred
route of administration and represents the largest sector of the pharmaceutical
market.Some molecules, including many
small molecule drugs, and virtually all proteins and peptides, must be injected
to be effective.This adds significant
cost to the manufacture and administration of drugs, and results in
inconvenience, discomfort and noncompliance for patients.From the perspective of manufacturers, health
care providers, payers and patients, it would be preferable to orally deliver
many of today's injectable drugs.Successful application of Cadrus'
oral delivery technology will enable a breakthrough in the administration of a
broad range of these important molecules, many of which have billion dollar
markets.
