Business Strategy

Cadrus' business strategy is to develop a pipeline of oral drug products by applying the GP delivery technology to both off-patent injectable drugs and to oral drugs, which are currently poorly bioavailable.  The initial area of focus for the Company is to leverage the GP technology's ability to target delivery directly to macrophage.  Cadrus has identified macrophage specific disease targets including intracellular bacterial infections such as tuberculosis, listeria or salmonella, and viral infections such as HIV.  This characteristic of the technology can be further leveraged to target and thereby concentrate delivery of drugs to places where macrophage localize, such as sites of inflammation and solid tumors. The development of orally delivered drugs requiring systemic delivery to the blood will be a second area of focus, and includes vitamin B12, antibiotics, and therapeutic peptides.  In all cases, Cadrus plans to establish proof-of-concept oral bioavailability studies in animals.  Successful candidates will be progressed into toxicology studies and then into clinical trials.  The new products will be developed further by the Company, or directly licensed to pharma partners after safety and efficacy is established in animals or humans.  Additionally, Cadrus will pursue partnerships with pharma companies to apply the GP technology to their proprietary molecules.
